Hello from HIKE Nirasaki!

Nothing says summer in Japan quite like a night sky lit up by brilliant fireworks! In Yamanashi, you can experience breathtaking displays set against beautiful natural backdrops, like serene lakes and scenic rivers.

Today, we’re sharing a roundup of top local fireworks festivals you can easily visit while staying at HIKE Nirasaki. Use this guide to help plan your itinerary and make your summer evenings truly unforgettable!

1. Takeda Jinbotsu Shoshi Kuyokai & Nirasaki Fireworks Festival (Nirasaki City)

A rich blend of local history and stunning light displays—Nirasaki’s biggest summer event!

This is our top recommendation, held right here in Nirasaki! The festival begins with a traditional lantern procession carrying sacred flames tied to the famous Takeda clan. It all culminates in a spectacular finale featuring around 6,000 fireworks, including synchronized light and music displays (starmaines).
